Frequently Asked Questions

1. Click Sign up in the top-right of any page.
2. Enter your name, email address, and a password (at least 10 characters, including at least one letter and one number).
3. We'll send a 6-digit verification code to the email address you signed up with. Enter it on the verification page to confirm your account - you won't be able to place any bids until your email is verified.

Before you sign up: add @alesievauctions.com to your email allow list (a.k.a. your "safe senders" list) BEFORE you register. Verification codes, winner notifications, and any messages from this site all come from that domain, and mail providers frequently misfile a first-time sender straight into spam or junk. If you never get your verification code, check there first.

Didn't get the code, or did it expire? The verification page has a button to resend it.

Click My Profile in the top navigation once you're logged in. The profile page is split into three tabs:

• My Bids - everything you're currently bidding on or have won, grouped by auction.
• My Address - your name, an optional Forum/Discord username (so an auctioneer running an auction can match your bids to your handle there), and your shipping/mailing address for items you win. Update any of these fields and click Save. This tab also has a Bidding Preferences section with a "Require confirmation before placing a bid" option - turn it on if you'd like a confirm/cancel prompt every time before a bid actually goes through.
• Change Password - enter your current password once, then your new one twice.

Changes to your name take effect immediately everywhere it's shown (the header greeting, bid records, winner reports, etc.).

This site uses proxy (silent-auction) bidding: you enter the maximum you're willing to pay for an item, and the site automatically bids the minimum needed to keep you in the lead, up to that maximum. Your max is never revealed to other bidders.

• Place Bid - on an auction's page, enter an amount in an item's bid box and click Place Bid (or Raise Bid, if you've already bid on that item).
• Submit All Bids - if you're entering amounts on several items at once, type them all in first, then click Submit All Bids at the top of the auction page to send them all in one batch instead of one at a time.
• Cascade bidding - for auctions with multi-item lots (several identical/near-identical items offered together), a "Cascade bid across multi-item lots" link applies one flat max bid across every item in the lot at once, optionally stopping once you're leading a target number of them.
• Managing your bids - the My Bids tab on your profile page shows every auction you've bid in, your current max bid, the current bid, and whether you're leading, outbid, or have won - with a Raise Bid option for anything still open.

Auctioneers will be provided a list of email addresses, physical addresses, and items won per person. An email will be sent to you with a list of items you have won. If the auctioneer has provided payment instructions during creation, there will be payment information included in the email. Otherwise, the auctioneer will reach out via the email address you provided for account sign-up.

In the event a bidder does not pay for an item, the auctioneer can:

• Offer the item to the runner up (or any number of runner ups)
• Cover the item themselves (and therefore keep the item)
• Re-post the item in a single-item auction
• Deem the auction unfunded and cancel the auction (and therefore MUST return any payments made for that auction)
